Der Highstakes Spieler „punting-peddler“ hatte in dieser Woche eine interessante Aussage getroffen. Laut einem Full Tilt Chat mit Dan Cates offenbarte er diesem, dass er 2007 auf PokerStars das WCOOP Main Event gewonnen hatte aber kurz darauf disqualifiziert wurde.
In dieser Woche sorgte Highstakes Spieler „punting-peddler“ für großes Aufsehen in der Comunity. Bei Full Tilt sprach er mit Dan Cates zunächst über Tom Dwan. Jungleman beschwerte sich über das Verhalten von Dwan, denn dieser möchte die angefangene Durrr-Challenge gegen Cates nicht zu Ende spielen. Dann sprach „punting-peddler über seinen größten Bad Beat. Bei PokerStars gewann er 2007 als „TheV0id“ das WCOOP Main Event für satte $1.200.000. Doch der Gewinn wurde ihm nicht ausgezahlt und stattdessen an die anderen Spieler verteilt. Der Grund: Er spielte mit dem Account der Schwester seines Bakers Mark ‘play2kill’ Teltscher.
Der Cheating Skandal machte 2007 in den Medien die Runde. Es war damals der größte Gewinn bei einem Online-Turnier und „TheVoid“ wurde nicht nur der Sieg aberkannt, er wurde für die komplette Seite gesperrt. Somit wurde der Runner-Up Spieler ka$ino Champion und erhielt insgesamt sogar $1.378.331 (erhielt zusätzliche $530.000). Auf Rang Zwei landete damals Vanessa Rousso, die sich noch über $700.000 freuen durfte. Auch der damalige Bubble Boy „alkemizt“ erhielt daraufhin ein Preisgeld in Höhe von $2.998. Aufgefallen ist der Skandal damals durch die Pokercommunity, die recht schnell herausfand, dass „TheVoid“ zuvor noch nicht ein einziges Turnier gewann. Nach rund 14 Tagen Recherche und Analyse konnte der Fall von PokerStars abgeschlossen werden.
Während man damals vermutete, dass „TheVoid“ ein britischer Pro sein soll, geht man heute bei „punting-peddler“ vom Schweden Mikael Thuritz aus. Sein PokerStars Name soll ChaoRen160 heißen.

The investigation into the WCOOP main event has now been concluded.
We have determined, based on the totality of evidence, that the tournament winner „TheV0id“ was in breach of the PokerStars Terms of Service.
In the interests of game integrity, „TheV0id“ has been disqualified from first place.
All other WCOOP main event prize-winners, in addition to the player who originally bubbled in 415th place, will therefore advance one place in the prize pool. The necessary financial adjustments to reflect the revised tournament places will be made within the next 24 hours.
Please note that we are unable to release further details of this investigation, for reasons of confidentiality and privacy.
