Vergangene Nacht wurden in den PokerGO Studios Las Vegas die Global Poker Awards 2020 verliehen. Bei der zweiten Auflage der GPA wurden insgesamt 25 Awards vergeben.
Mit Hossein Ensan war nur ein Deutscher nominiert und zwar in der Kategorie „Final Table Performance of the Year“. Unser Weltmeister musste hier allerdings den US-Amerikaner Philipp Hui den Vorrang lassen, der die Auszeichnung für seine Leistung am Final Table der WSOP Poker Players Championship bekam.
Zum zweiten Mal in Folge konnten das Power Couple Kristen Bicknell (GPI Female Payer of the Year) und Alex Foxen (GPI Player of the Year) die Titel abräumen.
Für sein Lebenswerk wurde Poker Legende Johnny Chan mit dem Lifetime Achievement Award ausgezeichnet.
Den Hendon Mob Award bekam „Miami John“ Cernuto dafür, dass er als erster Pokerspieler über 500 Einträge im Hendon Mob hat.
