Im legendären „Salle des Etolies“ des Sporting Club Monte-Carlo ging es am Dienstag im Zuge des PokerStars European Poker Tour (EPT) Festivals presented by Monte-Carlo Casino®️ 2023 mit dem Tag 2 des €4.850+€450 EPT Monte-Carlo NLH Main Events weiter.
Hier war zum Start von Tag 2 noch die Late-Registration und der Re-Entry möglich. Von dieser Option machten noch 35 Spieler Gebrauch und damit durfte man einen neuen Rekord für die EPT Monte-Carlo aufstellen. Mit 1.098 Entries war es die höchste Beteiligung aller Zeiten bei einem EPT Monte-Carlo Main Event. Das Preisgeld wurde mit €5.325.300 bekannt gegeben. Der Min-Cash auf Platz 159 sollte €8.700 bringen und für den Champion sind €890.000 vorgesehen.
Insgesamt starteten so 367 Poker-Cracks in den Tag 2 und gingen in den Kampf um die 159 bezahlten Plätze. Auf dem Weg zur Bubble mussten uns von den deutschsprachigen Teilnehmern, Christopher Pütz (AUT), Mohamad El Rais (SUI), Franz Bracher (SUI), Kevin Abecassis (SUI), Christophe Panetti (SUI), Matthias Lipp (AUT), Alexander Wahl (GER) und Mathias Bayer (GER) verlassen.
In einer dramatischen Bubble Hand erwischte es dann den Japaner Yasuhiro Waki. Nach einem Open Raise vom Belarussen Ryhor Karapanav mit 
auf 10.000, ging Yasuhiro mit 
für 32.000 All-In. Ryhor machte den Call. Das Board wurde mit 
gedealt und Yasuhiro musste als letzter ohne Preisgeld das Turnier verlassen.
Bis zum Ende des Tages wurde das Teilnehmerfeld noch auf 126 Spieler reduziert, die jetzt alle schon €9.850 sicher haben. Cashen konnten von der DACH-Gemeinde bereits, Kreshink Maloku (SUI – Rang 130 – €9.850), Adi Rajkovic (AUT – Rang 135 – €9.850) und Diego Zeiter (SUI – Rang 155 – €8.700). Von den ehemals gestarteten 35 Deutschen, elf Österreichern und 23 Schweizer dürfen am Tag 3 noch neun Deutsche, drei Österreicher und fünf Schweizer wieder kommen. Die meisten Chips von den DACH-Spielern konnte Leonard Maue (GER) auf Rang 11 mit 563.000 (113 Big Blinds) einsammeln. Als Chipleader geht Markkos Ladev aus Estland mit 881.000 (176 Big Blinds) in den nächsten Tag.
Tag 3 startet am Mittwoch um 12:00 Uhr im Level 16 bei Blinds 2.000/5.000 (Big Blind Ante). Dann werden fünf Levels à 90 Minuten gespielt. Der Average nach Tag 2 liegt bei 261.428 (52 Big Blinds). Ab Tag 3 wird das Turnier mit einer 30 Sekunden Shot Clock gespielt. Zum Start von jedem Tag bekommen die Spieler sechs Time Bank Karten.
